So a little while ago i was contacted to give my opinion on a new concept of 'shower cap' called 'Save the Blowdry' - the idea came about as apparently up to 60% of women don't wash their hair everyday yet there isn't one shower cap out in the market that can preserve yesterdays style. A few months later and the idea has finally come to fruition with 'Save the Blowdry' being created.
Whats so special?
'Its a showercap' i hear you say....whats so special about that? Well this is what you'd call the 'mother of all showercaps'....the cap has 2 layers, the outside protective layer (which is also phalate free) and then a secondary inside layer made up of super absorbing micro fibre towelling which basically works to zap up any humidity and condensation which are the 2 things that makes your hair frizz and flop. The result?....your hair is as dry and bouncy as before you put the hat on......can't get better than that!
About the cap
The cap itself comes in a rather fab and funky pink bow design on the outside. Its also super stretchy with the ability to hold even the longest and thickest of hair styles.
To use the cap you simply need to:
1:Brush your hair and if long just clip up.
2:Put the hat over your hair and ensure and loose straggles of hair are pushed up into the hat
3:Shower as normal
4:Dry yourself off, remove the hat....and tada your hair was as it was before!
Not only can you use it that way but if you actually turn the hat inside out it becomes a perfect cover for when your using hair treatments.
So does it work?
I have to say...i was a little bit sceptical that it was going to keep all that humidity away from my hair whilst i showered.....but it did, my hair was the same condition as it was before i put the hat on, this hat is an absolute gem!! I never thought id be hyping about a shower cap....but 'Save the Blowdry' are putting shower caps well and truly back in fashion.....if your someone that doesn't wash their hair everyday, but wants to preserve your style whilst showering ..then you NEED this product!!
Since its launch its been generating a fair amount of buzz in some major magazines such as the Daily Mail who stated 'This is one of the best things i have ever been sent', Cosmopolitan who tweeted ' whats this? a cute shower cap that actually stops your hair getting wet, Amaze' and the Sunday Mirror magazine stating 'They are thrilled with the arrival of Save the Blow Dry'
If you fancy getting one of these amazing caps.....they are priced at £14.95 and are available direct from their website. For every hat that is purchased from their site you will also be helping their partner charity Khandel Light - and with each hat sold it means you are helping to fund a fortnights safe drinking water for a family in that desert region.
One of the best new products iv seen in ages...and huge thanks to Claire for letting me see and review the hat for myself!!
So what do you think of this new concept then? Will you be trying it yourself? Have you already bought one? drop us a comment below!

Yeah i did think it was priced a little bit higher than i expected but this is an item that will last so for most would be a one off purchase....unless you did something crazy to it!!
Deletewhat a clever idea!

It is a bit pricey but I know many hair fans will say £14.95 is a small price to pay for non-frizzy, dry, bouncy after shower hair. Unfortunately I've got a bath so no matter what I do my hair always gets wet :(
ReplyDeleteLooks great on you though :P

It sounds like a good product. My hair always gets wet when I have a shower or bath though, even if I wear a cap!

Hi! Fabulous! would love to get me one of those!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog as well!
Have a lovely day!
Ha! I've never seen a showercap review before. It looks great, I always find that my head gets a bit sweaty when I wear one and ends up needing a wash which kinda defeats the object.
ReplyDeleteThis post made me smile anyway so I'd like to nominate you for The Sunshine Award. If you are interested then please visit http://teainthetub.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/the-sunshine-award.html and leave a comment so I can be nosey and see your answers.
I'm so excited to try this product.I try my best to wash my hair on alternate days unless I've been out too long (dirt, dust etc) but for the most part, I'm home so alternate days are much more ideal. This is such an amazing product and I can understand that the price is steep for a shower cap but I think this will be worth it! Love the design on this - so cute! x Donah @ SJB
